SCM Pharma...read all about us! Even better, let's do coffee...?
"We were very impressed with the manner and speed in which SCM Pharma was able to deliver the fill/finish of our radiolabeled cytotoxic compound. The team showed great willingness to meet the tight deadline and was able to come up with solutions to solve the challenging production requirements. We’ve had no hesitation in appointing SCM Pharma for a repeat project to deliver our product in time for our scheduled Phase III clinical trials." Head of production, Sanofi (UK)

NORTH-EAST FIRMS SET FOR HIGH-PROFILE TRADE MISSION
07 June 2010
A SELECTION of companies associated with the life science and healthcare sectors from across the region will be heading across to Sweden next week in a bid to develop and strengthen Anglo-Swedish trade relations, including contract manufacturing organisation (CMO) SCM Pharma.

The ‘Healthy Britain’ event is part of a bigger ‘Think Britain’ initiative - The Best of Modern Britain comes to Gothenburg - a three day event showcasing the best of Britain.

The healthcare conference aims to bring together leading members of the life science community, medical professionals, business people, academics and policy makers from Sweden and UK.

North-East based companies making the trip to the conference to represent the best of Britain include pharmaceutical manufacturer SCM Pharma, design consultancy Fat Frog, NAREC, Newcastle Science City and Newcastle Business School. The delegation will be looking to build on the historic connections that exist between the North-East and Gothenburg.

Also attending will be representatives from One NorthEast’s Seagull project, which is a collaboration established with various Swedish development agencies to facilitate investment and increase trade and knowledge flows between Sweden and North-East England.

Caroline Theobald, recently appointed chairman of the north east chapter of the Swedish Chamber of Commerce and Swedish Consul for north east England, said: “Think Britain provides a fantastic opportunity for British and Swedish companies to start the conversations that will lead to mutually beneficial business opportunities.

“In that spirit it’s great that a leading north east company like SCM Pharma has decided to be a major sponsor Healthy Britain and promote the opportunities that its services and the wider north east region can provide to dynamic Swedish companies.”

Dianne Sharp, managing director at sterile fill/finish specialist SCM Pharma, said: “We are delighted to be part of this trade mission to Sweden as it provides an ideal opportunity to make contacts and network with other healthcare firms from our region and of course with our counterparts over in Sweden.

“Sweden and indeed all of Scandinavia presents huge import and export opportunities for North-East firms. I believe this is a very positive step for us to proactively send some of the finest representatives from our region to spread the word about the vibrancy and value of the North-East economy.”
